Donald Kettle, 76, of Charley Bluff, rural Milton, died Sunday morning at his home after a long illness.
Born March 15, 1908, in Janesville, he married Margaret Brady in June 1928 in Iowa. He worked 10 years for the Rock River Woolen Mills in Janesville. For the past 15 years, he had owned and operated Don's Bait Shop in Milton. He also was a well-known area fur trapper. He served in World War II in the Navy.
Surviving are his wife; two sisters, Evelyn Aegerter and Blanche Vobian, both of Janesville; and a brother, Walter of Roswell, N.M.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Albrecht Funeral Home in Milton, with burial in Milton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
