Cornelius A. Kettle, 74, of 1400 Osborne avenue, lifelong Janesville resident and retired weaver, formerly employed at the Rock River Woolen Mills, died Sunday morning at Mercy hospital following a brief illness. He was born Nov. 29 1865, and was married to Miss Julia Schumacher, Janesville, in 1887.
Survivors are his wife; six sons, George, La Prairie township, Cornelius, Walter, Donald and Ralph, all of Janesville, and Alexander Kettle, Milton; three daughters,
Mrs. Silas Keller and Mrs. Fred Vobian, Rock township, and Mrs. Godfrey Aegerter, Janesville; a sister, Mrs. Fred Schumacher, Janesville; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Whaley-Overton funeral home, with the Rev. John R. Kelser, St. John's Lutheran church, to officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday night.
