Roy William Ace. 82, of Kittanning R.D. 3, died Saturday [14 Mar 1987] at Franklin Memorial Hospital, Farmington, Maine. Mr. Ace was a coal miner for the Pennsylvania Department of Highways, and also was employed in manufacturing mills in New York for 20 years before retiring in 1978. He was a member of the Fredonia Assembly of God Church. Born in Callensburg, Clarion County, May 22, 1904, he was the son of Hays and Katherine Lowers Ace. His first wife, Mabel Brown Ace, died in 1972, and his second wife, Esma Shoemaker Henry Ace, died in 1986. Surviving are a son, Lloyd Ace of Warren; a daughter, Mrs Larry (Arlene) Plummer of Fayette Maine; Five Brothers, Abe Ace of Akron, Ohio, John of Kenai, Alaska, and Richard, Leonard and Charles, all of Chicora; six sisters, Mrs. Howard (Myrtle) Claypoole of Chicora, Mrs. George (Dorothy) Merchant of Petrolia, Mrs. Blakney (Lois Jean) Scott of Bruin, Mrs. Bertha Stewart of Akron, Ohio, Mrs. William (Mabel) Claypoole of Petrolia and Mrs. Mark (Marie) Timblin of Parker; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son and a sister.

Friends of Roy William Ace of Kittanning R.D. 3, who died Saturday, March 14, 1987, will be received at the Bauer Funeral Home, 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and at the church for an hour before services. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday [18 Mar 1987] from the Center Hill Church of the Brethren, North Buffalo Township, Armstrong County. Burial will be in the Center Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Bauer.
