Mrs. Katherine Lavina [Laverna] Ace, 74, of Petrolia, died at Butler County Memorial Hospital Saturday [25 Jan 1964] afternoon, after a long illness. The widow of Hays R. Ace, she was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Miller. Surviving are seven daughters, Mrs. Howard (Myrtle) Claypool of Chicora R.D. 1, Mrs. Raymond (Gertrude) Ealy of Karns City R.D. 1, Mrs. William (Bertha) Stewart of Akron, Ohio; Mrs. William (Mabel) Claypool of Petrolia, Mrs. Mark (Marie) Timblin of Parker, Mrs. Dorothy Merchant of Petrolia and Mrs. Blankey (Jean) Scott of Camp Lejeune, N.C.; six sons, Roy Ace of Brockton, N.Y., Howard [should be Albert] of Akron, Ohio; John, Richard, Leonard and Charles, all of Chicora; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Paulson of Erie and Mrs. Mabel Shepard of East Brady; a brother, Richard Lowers of Foxburg; two half-sisters, Mrs. Margaret Frinick and Mrs. Lottie Mellish, both of Petrolia; a half-brother, Walter Henry of New Castle; 50 grandchildren, and 61 great-grandchildren.

Friends of Mrs. Katherine Lavina [Laverna] Ace of Petrolia, who died Saturday, Jan. 25, 1964, will be received at the Hepler Funeral Home, Petrolia, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday [28 Jan 1964] from the funeral home, with the Rev. John Clark, pastor of the Karns City Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Bear Creek cemetery. Arrangements by Hepler.
