SOLDIERS BODY RETURNED FROM FRANCE

The body of Calvin R. Duckworth, the first to be returned from the cemeteries of France was met last evening by approximately one hundred members of Co. E and the American Legion, who formed an escort for the body to the court house where it now lies in state, with a guard presiding, draped with the American flag.

The funeral services will be held at the M. E. Church, Rev. Stevens presiding. The American Legion will have charge of the funeral. The Legion quartette will sing and a guard of former comrades will be pall bearers. The interment will be made at Ft. McPherson, where the Legion will bury this young hero with full military honors.

Calvin R. Duckworth enlisted in Co. E, 5th Nebraska Infantry, June 23, 1916, and served on the Mexican border until February 14, 1917. He enlisted in the service in July 1917 and left for overseas April 1918. He met his death November 4, 1918, just seven days before the Armistice, in the drive of the Argonne Forest.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Duckworth, 123 West Eighth Street, who also suffered the loss of another son, who passed away at Camp Dodge, Iowa.

All citizens who have cars are urged to form in the procession to the fort where the final repects will be paid to this fallen hero from this city.
