Tuesday, June 23, 1931

Oliver Duckworth, son of Asbury and Elizabeth Duckworth was born August 26, 1858 in Lucas Co., Iowa and died at North Platte, Nebr., June 13, 1931, aged 72 yrs 9 mos 18 days.

His life, until middle age, was spent in the vicinity of Russell. In 1910 the family moved to Western City, Nebr. For the past 12 years the home had been in North Platte.

He was married to Anna Goltry Nov. 11, 1880 and to this union 13 children were born. Two sons, Ray and Donald, died during the World War and the wife passed away in 1925. The surviving children are: Fred of Salt Lake City; Frances Dukes, Carrie Poush, Bonnie Baughman and Paul of Chariton; Florence Sanborn of Russell; Harley, Nelson and Artie of North Platte; Ruth of Seattle; and Joe of San Francisco.

He also leaves two sisters and one brother: Tillie Shore of Tulare, Calif., Harriet Shore and Lewis Duckworth of Russell. There are 34 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at Bethel Church on Tuesday forenoon at 10 o'clock conducted by Rev. Archie Beals assisted by Rev. McCray, after which interment took place in the Bethel Cemetery.
