Services for Ollie Mason Whitfield of Hayti were held Nov. 5 at 2 p.m. in the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with Rev. Harvey Perdue officiating.
Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery at Steele with German Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Whitfield died Nov. 2, 1982 at Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital in Hayti at the age of 78.
The son of the late Jefferson L. and Luellen Medlock Whitfield, he was born Feb. 11, 1904 in Camden, Tenn.
He was a retried farmer and member of the Church of Christ in Steele.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Whitfield of Hayti; five sons, Aurthur of Benton Harbor, Mich., Benny of Benton Harbor, Pete of Michigan City, Ind., Wesley of Michigan City and Homer of Armona, Calif.; four daughters, Geraldine Russom of Hayti, Martha Anderson of Caruthersville, Lois Welch of St. Louis and Fadie Schindler of Arnold; two stepsons, Nathan Randall of Caruthersville and Richard Jones of Dallas, Tex.; three sisters, Ola Mae Dye of Benton Harbor, Mich., Jenny Ward of Steele and Beatrice Thornton of Memphis, Tenn.; 23 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
