Jennie Whitfield Ward, the daughter of the late Jefferson Lyfette and Louellen Whitfield, was born January 20, 1901 at Eagle Creek, Tennessee and died July 13, 1986 at Blytheville, Arkansas at the age of 85. On September 18, 1919 she was married to Clarence Cornelius Ward at Maplewood, Missouri. He preceded her in death.
Services were held at German-Aumon Funeral Home Chapel July 17 at 1:00 p.m. Mr. Walter Lumpkin officiated.
Mrs. Ward leaves a son: Claude L. Ward of Greenville, Mississippi; four daughters, Clara Honeycutt of Blytheville, Arkansas, Lilly Lockwood of Orlando, Florida, Elizabeth Cantrall of Higley, Arizona, and Sally Duncan of Gosnell, Arkansas; 16 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
One son, Lawrence Ward, preceded her in death.
Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Steele, with arrangements by German-Aumon Funeral Home of Steete.
