Transfer requests will be made at my discretion. Just because the person is part of your family tree does not mean you have to maintain their memorial. I will add information with the sources included (and credit you) that is sent via the edit tab in their bio.

Most of the memorials that I add are from cemetery photos from hours of walking cemeteries and photographing the headstones. Many people are sending edits for these memorials to add more information that is not listed on the headstone. If there is nothing listed in the bio section the information came from other contributors and it has NOT been verified as being correct. I WILL LIST the findagrave contributor's name and ID when I can for ALL edits submitted. If the edits are questioned and there is a contributor name and ID number listed in the bio, please contact the contributor who submitted the edits directly to verify where they found their information.

If I add information that is not found on the headstone to a memorial (full dates of birth, death, locations, family links, etc) I will list in the bio section the information to back up the information added to the memorial (death index, birth index, census, etc.)

A note about headstone transcriptions. This is an OPTIONAL field and is not required on the memorial. If the headstone is in good shape and clearly readable, I will not add any transcriptions to the field and will decline any edits submitted. If the headstone is in poor condition, I will add any important information in the transcription section. Note: The name and dates are NOT to be in this field. The memorial is created with that information and is not to be in this section.

Remember, if there is a memorial in a cemetery with a headstone photo and there is another memorial listed as burial unknown, the memorial in the cemetery with a headstone photo is not considered the duplicate, even if the burial unknown is set up first. Please do not contact the person who has the memorial in the correct cemetery with the headstone photo telling them that they have a duplicate as that is not the case. I recommend reporting the two memorials to and letting them know about the duplicates and ask them to merge the two together.

Remember:Just because a man and a woman share a headstone does not mean they are spouses! Several times they can be siblings or in-laws. I have seen several edit requests come through were people are ASSUMING they are married and not thoroughly researching the information to make sure they are INDEED married. Many times others are connecting siblings and in-laws as spouses when they are not. So please be sure to check that they are indeed spouses before sending the edits to link them.

NOTE: All of the edits on memorials I maintain from Eden Memorial Cemetery all came from contributor Susan (#48964989) who is updating them as she photographs the cemetery.

I have also seen that several memorials that I have created with the headstone photo and transferred to others upon request are being deleted (I keep a record of all memorials transferred) and this is NOT allowed. Instead return them to me if you don't want it. I will report any of my transferred missing memorials to Findagrave.

Also, DO NOT LEAVE obits or a persons information in the VIRTUAL FLOWER location. It will be reported as to findagrave to be removed. Send that information via the edit tab.
