Growing up in foster care I didn't know much about my family and was very curious. I have enjoyed genealogy since I was a young child asking my grandma questions. Up until 2009 I did not know who my biological father was, so I told people I had a flag tree, that's what they call them in the mountains when the wind blows so hard on the trees that they only grow on one side! (lol) Since 2009 I have filled in the tree quite nicely and it continues to grow.

I have always enjoyed cemetery's and learning about the traditions of burials and headstones. History shows that cemetery's are only cared for when there are living family members who remember the dead and keep their spirit alive. When there is no one to stand up for a cemetery it is often plowed over and repurposed, amazing isn't it? Find a Grave allows us to keep the memories alive for future generations and I am glad to be a part of it.
