Sharpsburg -- WILLIAM COLUMBUS RENNER, 73, of 308 West Chaplin St., died Friday at Colton Villa Nursing Home. Born in Sharpsburg, he was the son of Charles R. and Della Mae Drenner Renner. He was preceded in death by his wife, Addie M. Shank Renner.

He was a retired dietary employee of the Western Maryland Center. He was a member of Sharpsburg Church of the Brethren.

He is survived by five daughters, Lucille Travis, Jacksonville, Fl.; Bonnie Patterson, Laurel; Gloria Shaffer, Boonsboro; Darla Key, Hagerstown; and Penny Owens, Chesapeake, Va.; son, Nevin D. Renner, Hagerstown; three sisters, Ruby Dick, Downsville and Mary Alice Moore and Martha Miller, both of Sharpsburg; 16 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Services were held at the Osborne Funeral Home in Sharpsburg. Burial was in Mt. View Cemetery in Sharpsburg.

Miss Renner is Recent Bride of Tom Patterson -- A pretty wedding was solemnized at the Church of the Brethren in Sharpsburg on Sunday, May 11, at 4 o'clock in the afternoon, when Miss BONNIE RENNER, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Renner, Sharpsburg, became the bride of Thomas Patterson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Patterson, of Silver Spring, Md. and Corpus Christi, Texas. Miss Gloria Renner, sister of the bride was Mrs. Patterson's only attendant. Richard Darling, of Washington, DC, was best man. The bride is an employee of the Navy Department in Arlington, Va. Her husband is stationed at the Anacosta Naval Station. The couple will reside in Washington.
