Born July 9, 1940 in Sharpsburg, Maryland, she was the daughter of William Renner and Addie (Shank Renner.
Darla graduated from South Hagerstown High School in 1958. She and her husband Ronald Key entered New Tribes Mission in 1966, and served in Brazil, South America as missionaries for 28 years. They worked primarily with the Karaja Indians, as well as, establishing a church among the Brazilian nationals in Santa Terezinha, Mato Grosso. After retiring from the mission field, she assisted her husband in his ministry as pastor of Park Road Bible Church.
Darla was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Key; son, Tod Key, parents, William and Addie Renner; sibling, Nevin Renner, Randall Renner, Lucille (Renner) Travis, and Bonnie (Renner) Patterson. She is survived by 2 daughters & 2 sons; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters & many nieces and nephews.
Darla chose to donate her body to science, therefore no funeral services will be held. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, on December 15, 2019 at the Park Road Bible Church 750 Park Road, Hagerstown, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Park Road Bible Church and Doey's House 11370 Caring Pathway Ln., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
