NEW IPSWICH — Hazel B. Harrigan, 93, of Poor Farm Road, New Ipswich, passed away on Sept. 30, 2012 at Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough.

She was born Nov. 25, 1918, in Tyngsboro, Mass., the daughter of the late Silas and Mary (DeCarteret) Roberts.

Hazel was a longtime resident of New Ipswich. She worked at Tricnit Mill for 30 years and Attar Herbs and Spices for 15 years.

She was very active as a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church for 55 years. She loved Jesus with all of her heart and it showed to everyone she knew. She was always loving, kind and generous to all.

Hazel loved to admire God's creation. She loved all the flowers, birds, trees and the azure blue skies. Mostly she loved spending time with her family and friends.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Emil Kolapakka, and their only son, Daniel Kolapakka Sr., as well as her second husband, John Harrigan, and many other loved ones.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Cindy Parhiala and her husband, Clifford, of New Ipswich; Catherine (Kolapakka) Rollins of Jaffrey; Daniel Kolapakka Jr. of St. Augustine, Fla.; Marie Fogg and her husband, Benjamin, of New Ipswich; Honey Chalke of St. Augustine; Eric Chalke of Jaffrey; 16 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Mildred (Roberts) Patenaude, Matilda (Roberts) Patenaude, Ruth (Roberts) Hall, Herman S. Roberts, and Howard S. Roberts.

A memorial service, officiated by Pastor David Batchelder, will be held on Saturday, Oct. 6, at 11 a.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 200 Ashby Road, New Ipswich. Burial will follow at the Smithville Cemetery.
