SOUTH BARRE - Howard S. Roberts, 77, died Friday at Holden District Hospital He was the husband of the late Rose F. (Knight) Roberts who died in 1974. Roberts was born in Tyngsboro, the son of Josiah S. and Mary (DeCarteret) Roberts. After moving to South Barre, he was an overseeer at the former Barre Wool Co. For 40 years. He retired in 1967. He also worked at the Paul Whitin Co. for five years and operated the laundromat in Barre for a decade. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in South Barre. Roberts leaves two sons, Richard T. Roberts of Clarksville, Tenn, and George Roberts of Marion; three daughters, Natalie R. Ackert and Patricia A. Watson, both of South Barre, and Catherine M. Sepanek of Paxton; one brother, Herman Roberts of Westford; two sisters, Matilda Gosselin of Tyngsboro and Hazel Harrigan of New Ipswich N.H.
