Howard C. Affeld
Friends of Howard C. Affeld, 55, of 17420 Cleveland Rd., who died Monday, may call in the DeVos Funeral Chapel, Mishawaka. He was dead on arrival in Memorial Hospital at 9:40 a.m. Monday and suffered an apparent heart attack. Mr. Affeld slumped over while riding in a truck with a friend and was driven to the hospital by the other man, according to hospital aides. Mr. Affeld was born in Valparaiso, July 17, 1913, and had lived nine years in South Bend, coming from Three Rivers. A self-employed electrician, he married Florence M. Soch in Chicago on June 20, 1942. She survives along with a son, Charles H. Affeld, at home; two daughters, Mrs. Judith Van De Keere of Mishawaka, and Miss Carol Affeld, at home; two brothers, Robert and Vernon Affeld, both of Valparaiso; four sisters, the MIsses Erma, Treva, and Florence Affeld, all of Valparaiso, and Mrs. Rosella Hess, of Muncie, Ind., and two grandchildren. Mr. Affeld was a member of the Christ the King Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society of the Church and the Knights of Columbus in Three Rivers.
