Wife of John S. Alexander A lot of our family records show her maiden name as Canterberry.
Mary Polly Simpson Alexander was born in Fayette County, KY on April 16th, 1799. She married John S. Alexander in Kentucky and had four children. Sarah S., James H., Hanah H., and William were born in Kentucky. The family moved to Sangamon County, IL and arriving in the fall of 1826, in what is now Fancy Creek township, where six more children were born. Asa C. & Margaret C. (twins) were born March 15, 1829, George, John S., Samuel C., and Mary F. were all born in Illinois.

Gravesite Details
Grave was broken by vandals and Boy Scout Troop from Athens, IL helped restore the tombstone in the upright position.
