Over the river she has passed ahead
From our earthly vision and care she sped
From our frail arms to the saviors breast
Our Doris has gone, and is now at rest.
Ah! how could we wish our loved one back,
To the sorrow and strife that souls doth rack;
Nay! let her abide in his loves embrace,
Richly bestowed by his loving grace.
A Friend.
