YOUTH SUCCUMBS AFTER LONG ILLNESS
Walter George Amerpohl, the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Amerpohl, was born March 2, 1903, at Blanchardville and continued to live here throughout his life, which came to a close Thursday forenoon, August 19th (1926). He had reached the age of twenty-three years, five months, and seventeen days.

The young man's health began to fail noticeably about last Christmas time, but feeling that his condition was not serious, he could not be prevailed upon to consult medical aid, until early in July, when he was taken to St. Mary's Hospital for several days observation by Dr. Dean. He was found to be suffering from a complication of grave and incurable diseases, and he returned home to have the tender care of his mother and sisters until death released him.

Surviving are the mother, three sisters and two brothers, namely: Henry of Madison, Clifford of Janesville, the Misses Agnes and Grace of Woodstock, Ill., and Cora, at home. The father passed away exactly five years and five months before his son.

The deceased was a member of the M. E. church and the Blanchardville Fire Department.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Vaugh on Saturday afternoon at the home at 1:30 and the M. E. Church at 2:00. Music was furnished by a male trio, H. Ostrum, T. S. Bainbridge and Ed Thompson, accompanied by Mrs. Verne Marshall. Pall bearers were W. H. Robb, Allie Sardeson, John Farmer, Homer Marshall, Harry Anderson and Alden Austin. Flower girls were Dora, Ada and Esther Gould, Maxine Smith, Mrs. Homer Marshall and Mrs. Will Smith. Interment was at Graceland.
