Mrs. Fern M. Cooper, 69, of 5391 Schmidt Rd., Gladwin, died Monday, May 7, at the Gladwin Area Hospital following a short illness. Born in Leota on July 15, 1909, she had spent her lifetime in Gladwin County.
She was married to Leonel Hayward and he preceded her in death January 15, 1954. She then married Theodore Cooper September 5,1959.
Besides her husband, she is survived by 2 sons, Charles and Stanley Hayward of Gladwin; 7 daughters, Mrs. Lowell (Nora) Blaine, Mrs. Steven (Ruth) Demott, Mrs. Ivan (Joanne) Porter and Mrs. David (Nancy) Price of Flint, Mrs. Richard (Lora) Dean and Mrs. David (Irene) Ross of Beaverton and Mrs. Roger (Donna) Cook of Gladwin; one step son, Theodore Cooper of Gibralter; one step-daughter, Mrs. James (Marie) Miller of England; 6 sisters, Mrs. Lelah Grove, Mrs. Winifred Ely and Mrs. Blanche Near of Gladwin, Mrs. Velma McIntosh of Saginaw, Mrs. Dorothy Beavers of Sanford and Mrs. Edith Gizicki of Westland; 42 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
