Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. for Ernest Spohn 78, Sage Township farmer for 50 years.
Mr. Spohn died Sept. 7 at his home after a very short illness.
He was born in St. Clair County on April 26, 1877 and was married to Miss Sadie Ladd on June 28, 1906 at Harrison.
Survivors are his wife, Sadie; seven daughters, Mrs. Lelah Grove, Mrs. Fern Hayward, Mrs. Blanche Near, all of Gladwin, Mrs. Winifred Ely, Romulus, Mrs. Velma McIntosh, Saginaw, Mrs. Edith Gizicki, Inkster, and Mrs. Dorothy Beavers, Sanford; one son, Clarence, at home; one brother, Ray, Mt. Pleasant; 31 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Services were at the Miner Funeral Home and burial was in Highland cemetery with the Rev. Carl Briggs officiating.
Pallbearers were Right Foutch, Wellingston Tresler, William Campbell, Sam Nash, Alt Cuddie, and Fred Ehle. Gladwin County Record dated 9-14/1955.
