Martie Creason Burton, 90
Mrs. Martie Creason Burton, daughter of the late Mr. Ben Creason and Mrs. Hila Corum Creason, was born June 29, 1909 in Green County and departed this life Tuesday, July 6, 1999, at the Green Hill Manor Nursing Home in Greensburg. She was 90 years and seven days of age.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Holly Grove Baptist Church at the time of her death.
She united in marriage to Mr. Owen "Bud" Burton November 25, 1939 and he preceded her in death January 23, 1989. To this union was born one daughter. Surviving is Lula Janet Marcum, and her husband, David Marcum, Magnolia.
Mrs. Burton is also survived by her grandson and his wife, Neal and Cathy Marcum, Magnolia; great-grandson: Joshua Kuiper, Magnolia; one sister, Alice Creason, Greensburg; sisters-in-law: Gertie Creason, Summersville, and Gen Creason, Louisville, and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral for Mrs. Martie Creason Burton was conducted Friday, July 9, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial in the Aetna Grove Cemetery. Rev Leslie Jewell officiated.
Pallbearers were Moss Marcum, Hulett Stearman, L.J. Curry, Michael Bowman, Bobby Creason and Anthony Creason.
