Mr. Jake Creason, age 76, son of the late Mr. Ben Creason and Mrs. Melinda DeSpain Creason was born November 29, 1891 in Green County and departed this life at 6:20 a.m. Saturday, April 4, 1970 in the Jane Todd Crawford Memorial Hospital in Greensburg.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Oak Forrest Cumberland Presbyterian Church at the time of his death.
He united in marriage to Miss Flora McCubbin September 15, 1910 who survives. To this union were born four sons and four daughters. Surviving are: Rollin Creason, Carl Creason, Arthur Creason, and Alton Creason all of Greensburg; Mrs. Nellie Marr, Summersville; Mrs. Lottie Marr and Mrs. Dorsey Russell both of Greensburg. Clovis Ann Creason preceded her father in death in infancy.
Mr. Creason is also survived by one brother: John Alec Creason of Missouri; one sister: Mrs. Sarah Stiltz of Greensburg; two half-brothers: Elam Creason and Clell Creason both of Louisville; three half-sisters: Mrs. Etta Shields and Mrs. Marty Burton, both of Hudgins and Miss Alice Creason of Louisville; 16 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday, April 6, 1970 in the Oak Forrest Cumberland Presbyterian Church with burial in the Wilson Cemetery. Revs. Shiley Beard and A. J. Terry officiated. Cowherd and Parrott Fuenral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers were Larry, Calvin, Charles, Danny and Randall Creason, Ronnie Russell and Billy McMahan.
