OBIT - Mrs. Etta Jane Shields, daughter of the late Mr. Ben Creason and Mrs. Hila Corum Creason, was born 8 May 1911 in Green Co. and departed this life on 21 May [1990] in the Green Hill Manor Nursing Home in Greensburg. She was 79 years and 11 days of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Aetna Grove Baptist Church.
She united in marriage to Mr. Lee Shields on 7 Dec 1934, who preceded her in death on 7 Nov 1980. She is survived by 1 step-daughter: Mrs. Dissie Bale of Summersville; 2 sisters: Mrs. Martie Burton of Magnolia and Mrs. Alice Creason of Greensburg; 2 step-grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral services for Mrs. Etta Jane Shields were conducted at 1 pm Wed. 23 May at the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home with burial in the Aetna Grove Cem. Rev. Irvin Milby officiated. The pallbearers were Delbert Jewell, Keith Whitlow, Larry Bale, Perry Jewell, Boyce Wayne Vaughn, Neil Marcum.
