Virginia was born the 8th of 14 children to Rev. Charles Hubbard Wornom and Jane Elizabeth nee Gilmour in Warren County, Illinois. Her father in later life had become a minister in the Methodist Church. After marriage she and Andrew lived in Kirkwood, Illinois for several years where their first three children were born. They then moved to Cass County Nebraska and it was there that their fourth and last child was born. Her husband Andrew farmed and then was the foreman of the county poor farm; they evenutally moved back to Kirkwood, Illinois and were enumerated there in 1910 but then moved to Washington, D.C. where they lived with their oldest son, James. Both Virginia and Andrew died in Washington, D.C. and are buried at Arlington National Cemetery beneath their son James; they do not have individual stone inscriptions.
