FLOY McKAY WILLIAMS Died March 1, 2000 BOGALUSA :
Floy McKay Williams, age 101, a resident of Bogalusa, died yesterday at her home.
A retired teacher who taught in Bogalusa City Schools for 41 years, Williams was also active in civic and community affairs during her teaching years.
An active member of the Elizabeth Sullivan Memorial Methodist Church, she served on the administrative board, taught classes in Sunday School and served as Superintendent of the Children's Division until her retirement. Williams is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, I. J. Williams.
Visitation will be held at the Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. tonight and will continue tomorrow at 9 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 11 a.m. in the chapel. The Reverends Hugh Warren, James W. Spitzkeit and Esther Hammond will officiate. Interment will follow in the Ponemah Cemetery. (from Bogalusa Daily News)

Floy was the youngest daughter of Ira Zeno McKay and Delilah Elizabeth Marble McKay.
She was passionate about the history. She saved her many news articles and photos of her siblings of her McKay and Marble family and passed them on. Back in the 1980's or earlier, she identified the name of them writing names on the back. Around 1950 she wrote down her mother, Delilah E. Marble McKay's history narration, over 15 pages of text.
She was respected by family members for her generosity and wit. She was close to many of her nephews and nieces and very close to her niece and nephews, Signe and Ray Starnes.
She had many trials, including deafness for the last about 20 years and blindness for the last three. She remained peaceful and joyful.
