Funeral services for Mrs. Edward Fryer, 46, of southeast of Villisca were held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the Methodist Church in Villisca conducted by Rev. W. F. Clayburg. Music was by Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Nordyke, Mrs. Fredric Fisher, and J. H. Todd accompanied on the piano by Mrs. J. L. Wheeler.
The pall bearers were Frank Himiller, Reuben Westerlund, Ora White, William Wheeler, George Christian, Fred Fryer, Glen Boggess and Howard Cooney. Burial was in the Villisca Cemetery.
Mrs. Fryer suffered during the last two years from deterioration of the nerves of the spinal column and for the last three months spent most of her time in the Lewis Nursing Home in Villisca, where she died at 12:05 p.m. Thursday of last week. Her husband was at her bedside there the last two weeks and was with her at the time of her death.
The body was removed to the Wolfe Funeral Home where it remained until the funeral service.
Beulah Florence Cooney, daughter of Albert M. and Phoebe Ann Cooney, was born July 16, 1891 in Montgomery County and spent her entire life near Villisca. She was married January 28, 1914, to Edward B. Fryer in Villisca.
Besides her husband and her father, she leaves four children, Mrs. Robert Scott, Arnold, Earl, and Marion, all of Villisca; five brothers, Clint, Earl, Thad, Harry, and Clark Cooney, Villisca; and one grandson, Bobby Scott, Villisca. Mrs. Fryer's mother preceded her in death November 15, 1931.
