DIED
DECK - At her home in Bryan, on May 2nd, aged 56 years, of pneumonia, Susan A. Schartzer, wife of William N. Deck.
Mrs. Deck was born in Wayne County in this state, on the 18th of March 1846, and while yet a child she came to this county with her parents. In 1873, October 4th, she was married to the Rev. W.N. Deck, with whom she walked life's pathway until her shadows closed about her and left her companion groping in the darkness.
She was a devout woman, and has gone to her reward.
Funeral services wee held in the U. B. church Elder D. Lobaugh officiating, and the remains were laid to rest in Brown's cemetery. She died in peace and was happy at the end. May she rest in peace and happiness.
The bereaved husband feels very grateful to the neighbors whose kindness during his trouble he can never forget or fully return, and also to the members of the U. B. church, who conducted the funeral.
Dear Wife you have gone and left me,
But it was no fault of your own;
We have trod life's journey together,
But now you have gone home.
You have gone to see our darlings,
And Jesus the sweetest of all.
You will sing in the choir of Heaven.
And not get tired at all.
You have got our three little children
With you in that Heavenly band;
I have got the three death has left me
Here in this troublesome land.
As soon as life's journey is ended
With each of us here below.
We will come and join in the anthems
Where the waters of life do flow.
We will sing and shout together
All in that Heavenly land
Where Jesus is the leader
And there is no parting hand.
