VETERAN IS CALLED - JACOB SCHARTZER

Military Funeral Sunday for Bryan Veteran of Civil War - 86 Years Old

Jacob Schartzer died Tuesday at his home on South Main street. He was ill about a week. He would have been 87 years old next August and was one of the familiar figures of the community for many years. A veteran of the Civil War, he was among the last four of the survivors here, those remaining being Henry Bayes, Arch McConeghy and Chris Huffman. Services will be held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock at the M.E. church. It will be a military funeral under the auspices of the local American Legion Post.

Mr. and Mrs. Will Hood came from Butte, Montana on account of the death of Mrs. Hood's father,Jacob Schartzer. Others who were here for the funeral Sunday, were Lee Schartzer and son Howard, also Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Frogett, Morenci, Mich., and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Burt, of Alma, Mich.
