LEONA, Kan. -- Floyd Knecht, 73, died Wednesdy morning, July 22, 1987 at a hospital in Leavenworth, Kan. where he had been a patient since June 23.
Born in Leona, he resided in Detroit, Mich., before returning to Leona in 1972. An Army veteran of the European Theater of Operations during World War II, he was employed with General Motors for 25 years before retiring in 1969.
Mr. Knecht was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post. No. 1175, and a former member of the Fleming-Jackson-Seeve American Legion Post No. 6 of Atchison, Kan.
Surviving are a son, Larry living in New Jersey, two daughters, Charlotte Regan, Middleton, Wis., and Sharon Lasker, Livonia, Mich.; two brothers, Frederick of Troy, Kan., and Arthur of Leona; a sister, Marie Louma, Atchison; 13 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Highland Mortuary in Highland, Kan., where friends may call after 9 this morning. Burial will be at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, north of Leona.
