Mary Hannah was born to James Blake Sr. & his 2nd wife Hannah Lee in their home in the Wiarton/Colpoy's Bay area, Albemarle Twp., North Bruce County on the Indian Peninsula into Lake Huron, Ontario, Canada. In June of 1883 her father Widower James Blake Sr. immigrated to Lopez Island, San Juan County, Washington in the Salish Sea of Puget Sound's Sand Juan Island group. 1887 he had purchased a large amount of land with a homestead on Fisherman's Bay Road's north end. He sent for his daughter, Martha Blake who was born by his first wife Elizabeth to bring the small children born by Hannah Lee to live in their new home in Washington State. Mary Hannah was about 11 year. Other of her step siblings came to Lopez with their wives and children. Mary Hannah met a Scottish friend of two of her step-brothers, Thomas James Bell when he came to visit the family. She married Thomas James Bell on Dec. 25, 1896 in her sister's home on Lopez Island. Tom & Mary Hannah had 5 children, all born on Lopez Island, Washington. During the beginning of WWII (late 1940) she and Tom sold their home at Port Stanley, Lopez Island and moved to Sedro Woolley, Skagit, Washington. In 1944 Thomas James Bell, Mary Hannah Blake-Bell, daughter Alice Gertrude Bell, daughter Mary Louise Bell-Reece, son-in-law Sherman Dee Reece (1888-1970)and grandchildren Herbert Dee Reece and Mary Joanne Reece moved into an old Boarding house to become the home of the extended family, located in Bellingham, Whatcom, Washington. Tom died in 1945. Mary Hannah Died in 1956. Both were laid side by side in Green Acres Memorial Cemetery, Ferndale, Whatcom County, Washington USA
