Samuel Alexander Rodgers 70 of Sanford, Man., died Monday evening in the Misericordia hospital. Born in Ballymena. Ireland, he came to Canada 60 years ago and settled in Sanford, where he had farmed ever since. For a number of years he was reeve of the municipality of Macdonald and was an active member of Sanford United church. He is survvived by his widow, Nellie; two daughters, Mrs. Arthur Smith and Mrs. Mae Erb, both of Sanford; a son, Roy Rodgers, of Sanford; three sisters. Mrs. John Parker, of Sanford; Mrs. W. W. Pirt of Winnipeg, and Mrs. D. McFee, of Headingly; also six brothers.
Thomas. John and Robert, all of Sanford: David, of Graysville. Man.: and Matthew and Hill, both of Winnipeg: four grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Isabella McCurdy. predeceased him two weeks ago. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, at 2 p.m., in Sanford church, with burial in the local cemetery.
