C. C. McDaniel, 84 years old, died at his home, 310 West Seventh street, at midnight last night. Death was due to complications and influenza.
He was born in Randolph county, Missouri, September 20, 1853, and was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John McDaniel.
Mr. McDaniel was married to Miss Ida C. Cole of Hannibal, September 21, 1881.
Mr. McDaniel was an old railroad man, starting his career in the Wabash shops at Moberly and in 1882 was connected with the Missouri-Kansas-Texas railroad, with which company he served for 42 years. February, 1926, he was retired on pension.
He is survived by his widow and one daughter, Mrs. Arthur Hoffman, and four sisters, Mrs. E. C. Fair, Independence, Kansas; Mrs. Elizabeth Garver, Joplin; Mrs. F. W. Bocking, Fruita, Colo.; Mrs. Katherine Dameron, Sedalia. Two brothers, Melvin McDaniel, Cairo, Mo., and John McDaniel of Florence, Colo.
Funeral services will be held at 3 o’clock Friday afternoon, Rev. J. M. Evans, pastor of the First Congregational church officiating. Mrs. Charles Bard will have charge of the music.
Pallbearers are A. G. Deweese, John Cledhill, Emil Landman, Peter Hoffman, J. C. Ragsdale and William Baker.
Interment will be in Crown Hill cemetery.
