E. M. McDaniel dies at Cairo
Elisha Melvin McDaniel, 77, died yesterday afternoon at 2:15 o'clock at his home in Cairo. Mr. McDaniel, who was one of fourteen children, was never married. He was employed in Cairo for thirty-five years by the government, in the postoffice and as rural mail carrier. He was a member of the Masonic Order at Cairo for forty years. Joining the Presbyterian Church in Cairo in early life, he was an active member as long as he was able to attend. Mr. McDaniel is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Eva Bocking, Fruita, Colo., and Mrs. Clate Fair, Independence; and by one brother, John C. McDaniel, Florence, Colo. Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at Cairo Baptist Church by Dr. Allen Duncan, pastor of Coates Street Presbyterian Church, Moberly, with the Masonic Order in charge. Burial will be in Grand Prairie Cemetery. The body will remain at the Snow Funeral Home until the funeral hour.
