Gone to the Silent Land
Alice Miles was born in Moberly, Randolph county, Mo., in 1857. She moved to Harper county in 1884, and located on a claim near this city. She was married to Robert Miles in 1888, and they continued to reside in this city until October 1894, when they moved to Fort Scott, Kansas, where she died March 16, 1895. Her remains were brought here Monday and funeral services were held at the United Brethren church Tuesday, Rev. Fly of Alva, Okla., preaching the funeral discourse. A large number of friends were in attendance to pay their last respects to the dead. The deceased was the fourth daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. McDaniel, of this city, was beloved by all who knew her.
