She grew up on a farm near Kramer and attended parochial school and on January 12, 1941 she was united in marriage to Raymond M. Schachenmeyer at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kramer by Pastor William K.M. Pebler.
She was baptized on April 17, 1921 by Pastor A.H. Cholcher and confirmed on May 12, 1935 by Pastor Pebler at St. John's, Kramer, Nebraska. She was a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church at Clatonia.
The family farmed near Clatonia for many years and in 1973 they moved to Clatonia.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond; one son, Larry R. Schachenmeyer of Wilber; daughters, Mrs. John (Leora) Riechers of Wilber and Mrs. Jerry (Judy) Bergmeyer of Clatonia; brothers, Harold Schlichtemeier of Crete and Melvin Schlichtemeier of Hallam; a sister, Mrs. Esther Herpolsheimer of Lincoln; and 12 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Ernest Schlichtemeier, and two sisters, Irma Reiss and Gertrude Meinke.
Funeral services was Wednesday, May 15, 1985 at 10:30 a.m. from Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church near Clatonia. Pastor Larry Wiederich officiating. Song service by the church choir with Mrs. Larry Wiederich organist. Burial at church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Larry Larsen, Randy Brolhorst, Richard Reiss, Dorane Baehr, Doug Karl, and Randy Karl. Memorials to the church. Zajicek Funeral Home in charge.
