Mrs. Frank Schlichtemeier, a resident of this community 56 years, died Thursday morning at her home east of Kramer. She had been ailing the past five years. At that time she underwent an operation in a hospital at Lincoln which seemed to have alleviated her trouble. Last February her ailment again appeared. She then underwent a serious operation at Rochester and then remained there some time to take additional treatments. August 8 she was again taken to Lincoln for treatments which proved of no help. In all her suffering she showed Christian patience. On the morning of November 5 the Lord answered her prayer and took her from this vale of tears at the age of 56 years, four months, and 18 days.

She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband and seven children: Mrs. Esther Herpolsheimer of Lincoln, Ernest Schlichtemeier, Mrs. Irma Reiss, Mrs. Gertrude Meinke of Crete; Harold and Melvin Schlichtemeier of Crete and Mrs. Velma Schachemeyer of Clatonia. There are 14 grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Henry Henning, Mrs. Fred Meinke, Mrs. Carl Mundt, Mrs. Ben Busboom of Crete, Mrs. John Huber of Selden, Kansas, and three brothers, Ed Schultz, Wm. Schultz and August Schultz of Crete.

Funeral services were held Saturday, November 7 at 2:30 p.m. at the Kramer Lutheran Church with Rev. W.M. Pebler officiating. Interment was made in the Kramer Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers were Elmer Henning, Ed Schultz Jr., Edward Busboom, Walter Meinke, Dick Menke, and Elvin Schultz.
