Frank Frederick Schlichtemeier, son of Frank Frederick and Kathrina Schlichtemeier, was born March 23, 1881 on the farm his father homesteaded east of Kramer, and was baptized in St. John Lutheran Church by Pastor Huber on May 1st of the same year.

At the age of 13 years he was confirmed in St. John Lutheran Church by Pastor Lohr. On April 14, 1904, Mr. Schlichtemeier was united in marriage to Miss Hannah Schultz of Crete.

Mr. Schlichtemeier was a farmer and resided on the home place from his birth until 1955. From 1940-1955, Mr. Schlichtemeier lived in semi-retirement with his son Melvin and family. He later entered a nursing home in Crete, where he spent the last six years of his life.

Throughout his life Mr. Schlichtemeier was a member of St. John and served his congregation as elder and treasurer for many years.

He died Wednesday, September 13. Schlichtemeier was preceded in death by his wife and son, Ernest.

Survivors include two sons, Harold, Crete and Melvin, Hallam; four daughters, Mrs. Esther Herpolsheimer, Lincoln; Mrs. Irma Reiss, Crete; Mrs. Gertrude Meinke, Lincoln; and Mrs. Velma Schachenmeyer, Wilber; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Fred Kattau, Sr., Crete.

Funeral services were held Friday September 15 in the Kramer Lutheran Church with Rev. P.M. Kauffeld officiating. Interment was in the Kramer Lutheran Cemetery.
