Walter H. Reene, 85, a native of Clarks Hill, died at 1:40 a.m. Wednesday in a Nevada, Mo. hospital after an illness of three years. A resident of Missouri for several years, he was married to Thelma Huston, who survives. He was a veteran of World War 1. Surviving with the wife are two sisters, Mrs. Amanda Christopher, a resident of Bowles Nursing Home, Clarks Hill, and Mrs. Esther Burton of Rt. 11, Lafayette. Services will be Friday in Missouri.

Walter M. [H.] Reene, 85, 518 W. Walnut, died this morning at Nevada City Hospital, following an illness of several months.
He was born June 16, 1888 in Clarks Hill, Ind., the son of Albert and Selma Reene. On Oct. 7, 1946 in Fort Scott, Kan., he married Thelma L. Lundy.
Mr. Renee was a retired carpenter. He and his wife made their home in Nevada since 1957, having lived in El Monte, Calif., 20 years prior to that time.
Survivors include his wife Thelma of the home, two stepsons, Robert F. Collier, and Kenneth J. Huston, both of Nevada; two sisters, Mrs. Amanda Christopher and Mrs. Esther Burton, both of Clarks Hill, Ind.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced later by Ferry Funeral Home.
