On February 28, 1917, Emil Beyer married Isobel Anthony, the daughter of Henry Anthony and Jeanette (Kirkwood ?) Anthony, in Carlinville, Macoupin County, Illinois. The couple resided in Staunton and to this union was born a son:
Melvin Emil Beyer
In late 1923, Isobel began to suffer the affects of Dropsy, and when the ravages of disease overtook her, Mrs. Beyer returned to the home of her parents where every possible effort was made to ward off her ailment, to no avail. Isobel died at the home of her parents near Belleville, Illinois on July 18, 1924.
On February 27, 1926, Emil Beyer then married Ethel Flossie Reeves, the daughter of William Hardin Reeves and Cora May (Derwin) Reeves, in Livingston, Madison County, Illinois at the home of her parents. Three daughters were born to this union:
Arlene June Beyer
Gloria Lucille Beyer
and Imogene May Beyer
Emil Beyer was a coal miner for 43 years in Staunton, Illinois. He was also a bus driver. Emil was a member of the First United Baptist Church in Staunton, Illinois.
Emil Beyer passed away in Staunton, Illinois on May 1, 1980.
