Dorothy Martha Beyer the daughter of Herman Edward Beyer and Martha Rosa (Reinholt) Beyer was born October 27, 1895 in Staunton, Macoupin County, Illinois.

In March 1917, Dorothy Beyer married Benjamin Russell Ray, son of John W. Ray and Louisa (Paddock) Ray, in Macoupin County, Illinois. Two children were born to this union:

Glen Ray
and Juanita Jean Ray

Dorothy was a member of the St. Paul Evangelical and Reformed Church in Staunton, Illinois and was confirmed there in 1909.

Dorothy passed away in Staunton, Illinois on January 16, 1956 at the home of her sister Frieda (Beyer) France.
