Obituary
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Scott for Oran Albarado, 87, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 31, 2010 at his residence in Duson.

Interment will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Scott.Reverend Louis Allen Breaux, Associate Pastor of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Valerie Andrus, organist and soloist, will sing for the services, "Amazing Grace", "The Old Rugged Cross", "J'irai la voir un jour", "Just A Closer Walk With Thee" and "I Can Only Imagine".

Survivors include his beloved wife, Rose Stutes Albarado; two sons, Ronald Albarado and his wife, Carolyn and James "DD" Albarado and his wife, Nedith; one daughter-in-law, Bernella Albarado; seven grandchildren, Mary Margaret Venable and her husband, Kevin, Shelly Ann Albarado Neff and her husband, Spencer, Billy Joe Albarado and his wife, Alexis, Ronald Dale Albarado II, Daman Albarado and his wife, Nanette, Ricky Albarado and his wife, Virginia and Martha Nichole Theriot; four step-grandchildren; three great grandchildren, Eddie Lee Williams, Kristopher Albarado and Cali Michelle Albarado; twelve step grandchildren; one sister, Mary Ann Hebert; and three brothers, Lloyd Albarado, Allen Albarado and his wife, Virgie and Dudley Albarado.; five step great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Zeolide Domingue Albarado, Sr.; one son, Sherman Albarado; his mother and father-in-law, Bruno Stutes and Martha Smalley Stutes; four sisters-in-law, Mary Stutes, Ina Albarado, Evelyn Albarado and Joyce Albarado; three sisters, Eva Albarado, Mary Alice Albarado and Infant Eva Albarado; five brothers, Fred, Felix, Jr., Leonce, Stafford, and Infant Simon Dolar Albarado.

A native of Scott and resident of Duson for most of his life, Mr. Albarado was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him. He was a member of the United States Army, where he proudly served his country during World War II. One of his main duties in the service was to play the bugle. Mr. Albarado was a member of VFW Post 9822.

He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, caring nature, humor and whit. Mr. Albarado enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Pallbearers will be Ronald Albarado, Ronald Albarado II, James "DD" Albarado, Billy Joe Albarado, Daman Albarado, Ricky Albarado and Eddie Lee Williams.

Honorary pallbearers will be Errol Courville, Kevin Venable and Craig Theriot.
