Marvin DeWitt Caricofe, 76, of Dayton, died Monday, March 13, 2006, at Harrisonburg Health and Rehabilitation Center, where he had been a patient since September 2005.

Mr. Caricofe was born Feb. 5, 1930, in Mount Crawford, and was the son of the late Roy Franklin and Roxie Revercomb Caricofe.

He worked in the maintenance department at Tyson Foods and served in the Army during the Korean War.

On Aug. 6, 1952, he married Nancy Lee Balser, who preceded him in death Sept. 3, 2000.

Surviving are two sisters, Margaret McCauley of Port Republic and Jean Martz of Dayton; one brother, Roy F. "Buster" Caricofe Jr. of Bridgewater; and several nieces and nephews.

The Rev. William Garber will conduct a graveside service 1 p.m. Wednesday at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 this evening at Johnson Funeral Service in Bridgewater.
