PICKRELL-Berwin Richard Shaffer,85,Pickrell,died Thursday,Aug. 27,1992 at his daughter's home. He was born May 1,1907,in Odell, and graduated from Beatrice High School in 1932.He and Kathryn Mary Burroughs were married on Dec,1,1934.They lived and farmed southeast of Beatrice until they moved to Pickrell in 1975. He was a supervisor at the Beatrice State development Center for 13 years.He was a member of the Pickrell United Methodist Church;Beatrice BPOE Lodge No. 619 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 531.
Survivors:son Berwin R. Shaffer Jr. and wife Roselyn of Beatrice;daughter,Sue Shaffer Frahm and husband Larry of Lincoln;sister June Shaffer
Poage of Houston, Texas;six grandchildren;and two great grandchildren. He was prededed in death by his parents,George and Cora Shaffer,wife Kathryn;infant son Calvin;brothers,Carroll,Roy and Dwight; and sister,Cora Shaffer Morton.
Memorial services:11 a.m. Saturday Aug,29, Pickrell United Methodist Chursh. Cremationwith private graveside services at Evergreen Home Cemetery. Memorials to Hospice of Tabitha Foundation.Lincoln,and Pickrell United Methodist Church with Haman Mortuary in charge
