Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on September 21 for Mr. Henry Bloemendaal, 87, of Orange City, who died Sept. 18 in the Orange City Hospital. The Rev. Edward Blankenspoor officiated at the services held in the Calvary Reformed Church with burial in the West Lawn Cemetery under the direction of the Van Etten Funeral Home.

He was born on March 12, 1885, in Alton, and married Grace Van Surksum on March 7, 1909, in Orange City. THe couple farmed in Sioux and O'Brien counties before moving to Orange City in 1937.

Survivors include the widow, five sons, Gerald of Orange City; John of Hospers; Howard and Clifford of Lynnwood, California and Stanley of Melbourne, Florida; daughters, Mrs. William (Johanna) Van Klompenburg of Orange City; Mrs. Wilson (Evelyn) Beyer of Bellingham, Wash., Mrs. Walter (Helen) Fowler of Denver; 20 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and a brother William of Spencer.
