Mr. Bloemendaal died Monday at the Grossman Hospital here following a stroke suffered Thursday afternoon.
He was born on a farm near Alton, August 19, 1877, and lived there until November of 1940 when he moved to Orange City. For a time he was in the real estate business.
He married Freda Kok January 19, 1906.
Survivors are the widow, two daughters, Mrs. William Rutgers of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Mrs. Ernest Rutgers of Lynden, Washington; three sons, Dr. John Bloemendaal of Orange City, Hilbert and Roy who live on farms northeast of Orange City; four brothers and a sister.
