Shortly after the New Year was ushered in the death messenger entered the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jermiah Brickley of Kerr Addition and claimed the husband and father.

Jeremiah Brickley was born at New Washington on March 9, 1870 and was the son of Samuel J. and Martha King Brickley. He was 63 years, 9 months and 23 days old at the time of his death. Surviving to mourn their loss is his widow, May Luzier Brickley, and the following children: Mrs. Marie Boalich of Curwensville; Clarence, Mrs. Violet Shope and Mrs. Alice Luzier, all of Clearfield; and Odessa, William, Ray, Harold, Maude and Gloria at home. Two brothers: King of Sharon and Sam of Clearfield; and one sister, Mrs. Nancy Stafford of Shiloh, also survive together with eight grandchildren.

Jerry, as he was better known, spent most of his life in and around Clearfield. He was a kind and loving husband and father, a good citizen neighbor, always ready to lend a helping hand and will be sadly missed.

Mr. Brickley's suffering was intense and of long duration, he having had three operations. He bore it all with his Lord and Master and passed peacefully away.

Funeral services were held in the United Brethren Church january 4th at 2:00 o'clock. Interment at Shawville.
