Herald Coaster, April 13, 1993:

Funeral services for Herbert Kettler, 79, of Needville, are scheduled 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Needville. The Rev. George Kuebler will officiate, with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Kettler died Monday at Polly Ryon Memorial Hospital. He was born March 6, 1914 in Needville. He was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ. He also was a member of the Sons of Hermann and of the Needville Volunteer Fire Department.

Survivors include his wife, Norma Kettler of Needville; a daughter, Marjorie Suttle of Needville; a son and his wife, Keith and Benny Kettler of Fulshear; five grandchildren, Kristie, Kori, Pamela, Melia, and Rodney; three great-grandchildren, Kara, Kelsey, and Kristen; two brothers, Charlie Kettler of Rosenberg and Alvin Kettler of Needville; and two sisters, Hulda Leissner of Damon and Viola Kapalski of West Columbia.

Memorials may be made to the Immanuel United Church of Christ.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Tuesday at Garmany & Carden Funeral Home in Needville. Services are under the direction of Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors in Needville.
