Funeral services for Hulda Leissner, age 90, of Damon, TX, are scheduled for 11 AM Wednesday, December 20, 2006, at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Needville, TX, with Rev. Fred Banda officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Serving as pallbearers will be Mrs. Leissner's nephews, Terrence Kettler, Keith Kettler, Charles Kapalski, Johnny Greenberg, Roland Boone, and Kirk Boone. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 19, 2006, from 6-9 PM at the Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel, 3103 School Street, Needville, TX 77461.

Mrs. Leissner was born December 22, 1915, in Needville, TX, to Charlie and Emma Hackstedt Kettler. She was a longtime member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Needville, and an active member of the Women's Guild. She was also a member of the Sons of Hermann.

Survivors include her daughter, LaVerne Garner and husband, Stony, of Van Vleck, TX; daughter-in-law, Donna Leissner, of Damon, TX; 6 Grandchildren: Mark Krobot and wife, Lisa, of Van Vleck, TX, Kim Johnson and husband, Bob, of Flowery Branch, Georgia, Kristi Champion and husband, Shannon, of Van Vleck, TX, Teanna Parthum and husband, Tim, of Damon, TX, Korri Weldon and husband, Ray, of San Antonio, TX, and Taft Leissner and wife, Marla, of Richmond, TX; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Viola Kapalski of West Columbia, TX; sister-in-law, Norma Kettler of Needville, TX; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband, Alfred Leissner, her son, Dennis Leissner, and by 5 brothers and 1 sister.
