Mrs.J. P. Cofer dies
in Newton, Miss. Home
Mrs. Martha Ann McCammon Cofer, dies in her sleep Monday night, February 17, 1969, at her home in Newton, Miss. She was 80.
A native of this area, Coffeeville, Miss., Yalobusha County, Mrs. Cofer was the daughter of the lateJohn Robert McCammon and Julia Elizabeth Summers McCammon. On February 24, 1914, she married the late James Percy Cofer, and they reared six children.
Funeral service were at Pilgram Rest Church Thursday, February 20, 1969, at 11 a.m. Rev Paul Kiihnl conducted the service. Burial was in the church cemetery with Webb Funeral Home in charge. The grandsons were pallbearers.
She leaves six children, Fred Cofer of New Orleans, La., Roy Cofer of Newton, Miss., Olean Cofer of Merdian, Miss., Hugh Cofer of Greenwood, Miss., Annie Black of Vardaman, Miss. and Virginia Norwood of Canton, Miss.; three sisters, Lillie Shepherd of Water Valley, Miss., Monnie Shepherd of Eupora, Miss., and Georgia McCammon of Jackson, Miss.; and one brother, Harvey McCammon of Pine Valley, Miss.
