James P. Cofer dies in Meridian;
Rites held here
Funeral services for James Percy "Jimmy" Cofer, age 82, were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Henry Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Kiihnl officiating. Burial was in the Pilgram's Rest Cemetery near Coffeeville, Miss.
Mr. Cofer died in Matty Hersee Hospital in Meridian, Miss., Laurdale County on Monday, May 10, 1965. He had been ill five days.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. martha McComman Cofer of Route 3, Newton, Miss.; three sons, Fred Cofer of New Orleans, La., Roy Cofer of Water Valley, Miss., and Hugh Cofer of Greenwood, Miss.; three daughters, Mrs. Olean Cofer of Merdian, Miss., Mrs. Annie Black of Vardaman, Miss., and Mrs. Virginia Norwood of Canton, Miss.; three sisters, Miss Deylar Cofer and Mrs. Dora Sartain of Water Valley, Miss. and Mrs. Zola Wilson of Oklahoma; a brother, Lee Cofer of Water Valley, Miss.; 22 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
